Austin loves helping people move beyond a shallow faith into a deeper understanding of the grace, truth, and glory of Jesus Christ. Through Christ-centered expositional preaching, his desire is to help believers not only understand Scripture more fully, but also apply its truths faithfully in everyday life. He believes God’s people need the deep truths of Scripture—not just surface-level encouragement—in order to grow into mature disciples of Christ.
He is especially excited to see how the Lord will continue to use Neely’s Bend Baptist Church as a gospel witness in the Neely’s Bend and Madison communities, and he looks forward to seeing the church grow in spiritual depth, love, and mission in the years to come.
Austin earned his Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Athens State University and his Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He and his wife Ashton have two children and enjoy spending time together as a family through trips to the zoo, waterfall hikes, golf, and other outdoor adventures.
